Artist Statement
I am a Battle Creek artist specializing in Pet Portraits. A life long love of animals and of the effect they have had on my life have been my influence. Another influence has always been the great American outdoors My landscapes and wildlife paintings reflect our love of the West, particularly the Tetons and Yellowstone as well as the beauty to be found in our local area and throughout Michigan. Although I have an extensive formal art education I have always believed that every artist ends up being self taught since it is only through doing that you really learn. More importantly, it is how every artist puts their personal stamp on a work of art that eventually comes to identify it as their very own. Over the past eight years I have had the good fortune to have done pet portraits for hundreds of area residents. I also do portraits, trophy paintings for hunters, and other Fine Art.
